Tips For Google Ads
Here, we are going to cover how to perform various tips & tricks when using Google Ads. These are short but well thought out methods to make things more smooth and to have better performance using this platform.
#1 Don't go for keywords that are too broad
You must first do research on your keywords. This is important because you can't be randomly selecting any keywords to use. For example, you can't use "dresses" as your keyword because google will likely not show your ad. The only way you could use "dresses" as your keyword were to be if you were Kohl's or Amazon. This is because their budget is so big that they can land top broad matched keywords. What might be better is looking at "plus size dresses" or "white dresses" because it becomes a lot easier to do.
#2 Spend enough time to get specific on your keywords
You have to be specific on your keywords and then you have to create a landing page that satisfies that specificity. There is more work than simply creating an ad.
#3 Negative keywords is a must
There are a lot of keywords that you don't think about that if they're included in your actual specific good term, will basically mean that you won't want to spend money on it. The goal here is not to waste money. You need negative keywords because if someone types in charger, becuase you're also a reseller of charger cars, when someone types in "chargers" you don't want your ads to show up during NFL chargers or Dodge Chargers, so you would type in "NFL" and "Dodge" as your negative keywords. If you don't do this your quality score will go down and your ad costs are going to go through the roof.
#4 Use site extensions
Your ad has text at the top, a little blip and then underneath that you have a place where you can connect your google business page, user reviews, or specific pages that are relevant to whatever that is.
#5 Group Your Keywords
Alot of your keywords are similar to each other, put those in one group. By grouping, you can create relevant ad text towards each group. The moment you put all of your keywords into one campaign, and you have the same ad text for all of those keywords, what's going to happen is your ad text is going to be relevant towards each keyword, alot of people wont be clicking on them and this is going to cause your CTR to go down and your CPC to go up. Because the way Google works is they optimize for their own revenue so the higher CTR the cheaper your ads will be and the higher your CTR, the better your quality score is going to be.
#6 Continue To Optimize Your Ad Text
If your ad text get more click through than the competitors your CPC is going to go down and your quality score is going to go up. By testing, you're going to figure out what works and what doesn't work. And if you're unsure of this, go look at your competitors. Type in a keyword, you can see that ad text other people are using, at the top. Usually the people at the top have really appealing ad text, in which is getting them a ton of clicks. If you can't find a ton of examples while you're searching a keyword, go to semrush.com, it'll show you a keyword and it'll show you a history of all those people who have been bidding on that keyword and what their ad cope was.
#7 Optimize Your Landing Page
If your landing page is amazing, when people click through on your ad, go to your landing page and buy, your quality score is going to go up. If your landing page sucks and people keep bouncing off, then Google is going to ding your quality score. The way you can optimize your landing page is A) by putting your keywords on that landing page. So is some one googles "marketing" and your landing page also sells marketing, you're much more likely to keep the visitor on there and convert. B) by using a website called crazyegg.com
#8 Keep Keywords Closely Knit
Edit and keep your keywords extremely relevant to each other to use them as each separate split test. For the ads, do slight variations of each as well. Once you send people off to a landing page, it has to be relevant to those ads and keyword variations.
